Group three equals another week of expectations.  This week I decided
to do Post-It expectations, having each student and leader write what
they wanted to see God do this week on a single Post-It and then put it
up in the front of the sanctuary so they could read each others.

Here
 are some of my favorites:
“To grow closer to God, and to discover
 why I truly came here.”
“To show the overwhelming love of Christ.  To help the people see
the light of Christ in this dark city.”
“To learn better how to
become a tool in God’s hands rather than staying on the tool bench where
 it’s ‘safe’.”
“Seeing children’s lives and attitudes change
through day camp; hopefully even their parents and siblings.”
“Change
the community and give them the hope and love Jesus gives us.”
“I
am expecting to get a better understand of compassion…I’m hoping for a
crazy experience to inspire me to have true compassion.”
“Be used
wholeheartedly by the Lord in His schedule and not my own.  Connect and
be real for the Lord to the community surrounding us.”
“I expect
to be taught more about God driven compassion for His people.”
“To
learn that I can’t do anything but Christ can do anything through me.”
“I
would like to be able to listen to what God is trying to tell me.”
“I
want to see our youth gain a passion for ministry, for serving God even
 when it’s tough.”
“I wish I could meet someone throughout the
week and talk with them and have them touch my life and I touch theirs.”
“God
will blow me out of the water.”
“To touch the hearts of the kids
and the hearts of the community.”
“To stop denying God’s will and
plan for me.  And to follow his will even when I don’t think I can.”
“I
want our group to realize the need of the Gospel more than ever before
and to gain an urgency to live out and spread the Gospel in a very lost
generation.”
“My desire: to love without reservation, to be
available to whatever God asks, to be compassionate, that our group
would be knitted together in love.”
“I want to see God do
miracles.”
I love that these have similar themes running throughout them: love and compassion. I can’t wait to see how God reveals these to us.
