The following areas of OFF LIMITS at all times:
· Staff Quarters
· Any areas marked “off limits”
· Sleeping area of opposite sex
· The upstairs sanctuary and balcony
These are areas of limited accessibility:
· Outside stoop or courtyard – until 10 PM in a group of at least 3
· Anywhere else outside – until 10 PM in a group of 3 with a leader
· Kitchen & Pantry – meal crews only, setup & cleanup times only (you may fill up water bottles or wash hands in kitchen – use discretion though. It’s a small space, not suitable for hanging out!)
· Shower area during gender-specific time slots ONLY
· Staff toilet may be used by girls during lights out hours ONLY
Food Issues
· Feel free to eat snacks from the Hospitality Table
· Don’t take any food from the kitchen, pantry or refrigerators
· Don’t open any of the refrigerators unless you are asked to get something by an AIM staff member
· No food in bedrooms
· You may store your own food (labeled) in a tub near the hospitality table area.
· No food or drinks in couch area – water bottles are okay
· DRINK LOTS OF WATER !!! DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!
· Meal crews arrive 15 minutes before meal, cleanup crew should be first in line to eat
· Let summer staff know if drink coolers are getting low
· See AIM staff about storing any food of your own in refrigerators.
· Place empty cans & bottles in one of the recycle cans
· Pour all liquids in the liquid bucket by the trash (cereal milk, drinks, etc)
· Stack cups, plates, bowls rather than throwing them directly into the trash (the cleanup crew will put the entire stack in the trash at the end of the meal)
Property Care
· Being allowed to use this building is an amazing gift from God – Please help us honor his provision and the owners’ generosity by taking good care of it!!
· Behave in such a way that the church owners would feel honored if they walked in the building at any time
· Let AIM staff know if something breaks
· Don’t sit on tables
· No balls WHATSOEVER in the church building OR courtyard (Go to the park or play on the sidewalk in the front if you want to play ball)
· Clean up after yourselves – there is no lost and found! Stuff left around may become permanently lost!
· ALWAYS keep doors locked! All AIM staff have keys
· Ask an AIM staff member before moving any fans.
· All fans must be directly plugged into a power strip – NO OTHER TYPES OF EXTENSION CORDS ARE ACCEPTABLE!
· Don’t move furniture without permission from AIM staff
Relationship Care
· Observe parking signs, fire hydrants, parking meters – don’t park on curbs, etc.
· Don’t let any guests inside without AIM staff permission (kids OR adults!!)
· Take opportunities to interact with our Kensington neighbors
· Keep your volume level reasonable – NO ONE hanging out outside after 10 pm
Stuff you should already know, just to reinforce
Things NOT to pack:
· Hairdryers, curling irons & straighteners
· Walkmans/CD players, Ipods, etc. or boom boxes
· Cell Phones (adult leaders may have cell phones)
· If an adult leader lets a youth use their phone, the youth needs to be w/in 6 ft
Dress Code
· Dress code is for SAFETY and FOCUS ON MINISTRY
· MODESTY IS THE BEST POLICY (Modest clothes conceal shape and skin, immodest clothes reveal shape & skin)
· Dress Code applies the second you walk out of the bedrooms! Must be in code walking to/from bathrooms. (shirts, sleeves, length of shorts)
· Shorts to the knee
· No tank tops, sleeveless shirts or rolled up sleeves
· Pay attention to the fit and length of shirts (reach up & bend over without exposing skin, tennis ball test)
· No open-toed shoes during ministry times (occasional exceptions – ask staff)
· Sunday AM Church – wear the best you brought – (Guys – collared shirt, decent pants. Girls – modest skirts & shirts.) Open-toed shoes are okay for church.
· If you don’t comply with the dress code, your leaders will ask you to change before you will be allowed out on the ministry site.
· God will honor the sacrifice your making this week! Please make it easier on yourselves, your leaders and AIM staff by complying with the dress code.
Chores
· Everyone will be assigned to a chore for the week.
· Check the chore chart to see which one you are assigned to, instructions for that chore
· The Summer staff will be available to help you learn the chore the first time, and to answer questions & check your work the rest of the week
