This past week has been filled with VBS, kids, homeless ministry and friends!

Destiny and Grace picking up garbage in the Varaso’s neighborhood.  With something as simple as picking up trash, we were able to show the neighborhood that they are loved and worth our attention.  In the couple of hours we were out there, we were asked why would we do that for people we didn’t know and we were able to say that God loves Philly and they are valuable.

Isaac showing off hands covered in chalk paint.  Isaac was always bringing joy and energy to our day.

It was an honor to go into the Varaso’s neighborhood and have people trust us with their children.  We shared from God’s Word and even had one kid who did not know what a Bible was before this week.

Each day during VBS we shared a Bible story (usually acted out), songs, and a memory verse.

VBS ended with small group time where our team asked them questions tying in life to the story.

Early this week, I shared a picture with 2 little kids in it.  In the picture, they were very serious and hadn’t come out of their shell very much.  The two kids in the back are them on the last day.  They were running and playing and laughing.  We are praising God that relationships have been started and God is working in this neighborhood!
